What We Do
Our mission is to produce artistically innovative theatre productions that seek to educate, empower and challenge social conventions in an effort to revolutionize the Black theatre experience. Yellow Dream also serves as a platform for aspiring artists to pursue their artistic dreams and showcase their talents in professional productions.
Cassandra is a writer, actress, poet and activist. Theatre credits include the Off-Off Broadway hit, Indigo, Blood Water and Storyville Blues. Her theatre productions have premiered Off-Off-Broadway and to theatre audiences across the states including Atlanta and Virginia. Also, her literary works, which include a montage of period pieces, have garnered national recognition being selected twice for the Midtown International Theatre Festival in New York, the National Black Theatre Festival, DC Black Theatre Festival and the Atlanta Black Theatre Festival.
Born in Atlanta and raised in Montgomery, Alabama, Cassandra has always had a passion for activism working as a news writer intern on Capitol Hill in D.C., she published several news articles spreading awareness of community issues in the area. She has also worked at the Governor's Office in Atlanta promoting the voter registration campaign and participated as a scholar for the Institute on Political Journalism at Georgetown University. Through her theatre company, Yellow Dream Productions, Cassandra continues to push the movement for social change through the arts.
